Our mission is to conduct and support research toward a personalized, predictive, and preventive cure for neurodegenerative diseases.
The goals of the NRI-Initiated research is to:
Better Understand the Root Cause of the Disease
Identify Techniques for Early Diagnosis
Make Meaningful Scientific Contributions to Find a Cure
NRI-Initiated Research
The NRI believes we can best achieve our goals by focusing on four areas.
01
AI & Machine Learning
Synthesize the data to identify significant correlations and signatures
02
Genetics
Perform gut microbiome sequencing and targeted human genome sequencing
03
Biomarkers
Test for early diagnosis
04
Patient & Family History
Understand potential familial and environmental factors
The Research We Support
The NRI collaborates with innovative partners, including the Cortex network.
90% of clinical trials are delayed or canceled because they cannot recruit enough patients and healthy volunteers to participate. Traditionally, clinical trials are conducted at large academic institutions, which provide care for only 15% of the patient population. The remaining 85% of the patient population is being cared for by community-based physicians.
The Cortex network makes it easier to connect doctors, patients, and researchers facilitating trials by using the NRI Trial Finder and providing a list of community-based physicians willing to work with researchers on drug and device trials.
